Sleep & daily routine
Build a steady rhythm for better rest
Predictable habits help your body know when it is time to wind down and when it is time to wake up. These simple steps are general health information, not medical advice.
Three simple phases
A routine in three steps
01
Evening wind-down
Start slowing down about one hour before bed. Dim the lights, put screens away, and choose a calm activity such as reading or gentle stretching.
02
Dark, quiet sleep space
Keep the bedroom dark, quiet, and cool. Simple changes like blackout curtains or a fan can make the room feel more restful.
03
Morning daylight
Open the curtains soon after waking. Natural light in the morning helps set your daytime alertness and your body clock.
Your bedroom
Small room changes that help
Your bedroom environment affects how easily you fall asleep and stay asleep. Look at air, sound, and temperature first. – Ventilation: open a window for fresh air before bed when it is safe to do so. – Noise control: use earplugs, a white noise device, or soft rugs to reduce sudden sounds. – Temperature: many people sleep best in a cool room. Use light bedding you can adjust.
Try one change at a time so you can notice what helps. If your sleep problems continue for many weeks, speak with a qualified health professional.
